INSTALL ROOF PANELS
WARNING:
To prevent damage to the panels and to
prevent serious personal injury,
do not attempt to install
the panels on windy days
.
Roof panels can be installed in different locations depending
on desired result. For the purpose of these instructions, the
roof panels are installed with the vented panels on the left
side of the greenhouse as seen from the front.
IMPORTANT:
Consider the direction of the prevailing winds when installing the vented roof panels. These
panels should be positioned (if possible) so that the prevailing winds cannot catch and damage the vents
when open. See diagram in upper-right corner.
NOTE: Drill and countersink all mounting holes to prevent splitting.
Locate a double roof panel (#CG72138) and set it in position as shown below.
1.
NOTE:
The roof panel will be flush with the top of the adjacent rake board. Additionally, the top edge will
not extend past the center of the ridge assembly.
Verify the top edge is aligned with the center as shown and secure to the rake board using three (3)
2.
2-1/2" construction screws (#FAS13).
Install screws through the rake board and into the roof panel.
NOTE:
When installed correctly, the open edge of the double roof panel will align with the
center
of the
second inside rafter. Panel should be tight against and secured to the rake board at this time.
Secure the panel by installing 2-1/2" construction screws through the double roof panel frame and into
