DVD video CDs
can be recognized by the logo on the left
and video CDs by the logo on the right.
DVD video CDs and video CDs can contain films, video
clips, television series, and so on. Depending on their
content, these CDs may have one or more titles. Every tit-
le on a
DVD video CD
can contain one or more sections
(chapters). The titles of a video CD consists of one or mo-
re index items. Information on the content of a CD is also
usually contained on the cover.
The region code of the
DVD video CD
sets the countries
for which this DVD has been intended for use. The region
code of this DVD receiver is
»2«.
DVDs that do not
contain a
»2«
on the code label can not be played on this
device.
Playable in all countries
Certain video CDs are equipped with a »Play Back Con-
trol (PBC)
Playing a CD
Switch on the television. If the DVD receiver is connected
to the television by SCART then switch over to the
respective Scart input if necessary.
If the DVD receiver is connected to the television via the
VIDEO or SVIDEO socket then the corresponding video
input must be selected at the television.

Due to the built-in auto-play function, the DVD automati-
cally starts to play back when...
– A CD is already inserted when switching on the DVD
receiver, or
– The CD tray is closed.
Note:
Depending on the CD that is inserted, the device switches
to the highest preset AUDIO MODE. If no speakers are
connected to the device then playback may be without
sound, depending on the CD that has been inserted. To
listen tothe CD via the television speaker you must switch
over to STEREO (in
SPEAKER SETUP PAGE
, line
AUDIO MODE
).

With some DVD video CDs and video CDs, the DVD
menu or the title menu is displayed at the start of play-
back. If the device is in STOP mode then press

Contents of DVD CDs (menu)
Some DVD-CDs contain selection menus for title and
sections or a root menu to call up additionally stored in-
formation This menu can also contain selection possibili-
ties for camera angle, dubbing languages, subtitle, etc.
Depending on the DVD inserted, this menu can be called
up by pressing
»TITLE«
