To enable switching the VAS traffic automatically upon a failover situation, the following options must
be configured for VAS over 10G:
•
Set the VAS traffic link to auto-select, so that the system can switch between the links in case of
7600/6500/VAS servers failure.
•
Specify the minimum time allowed between two consecutive link switches before any health check
has succeeded.
•
Specify the link on which to transmit VAS traffic initially after changing the configuration to
‘
auto-select
’ (in runtime or after reload) or the current VAS traffic link if ‘
auto-select
’ is already
configured
How to Configure the Link for VAS over 10G
By default, the VAS traffic is transmitted on Link 1. However, for VAS over 10G, the VAS link should
be set to auto-select, so that the system can switch to the backup link when necessary.
Options
The following option is available:
•
VAS traffic-link {link-0|link-1|auto-select}
— The link number on which to transmit VAS traffic

For VAS over 10G, specify
auto-select.
Step 1
From the SCE(config if)# prompt, type
VAS-traffic-forwarding traffic-link auto-select
and press
Enter
.
How to Revert to the Default Link Configuration
By default, the VAS traffic is transmitted on Link 1.
Options
The following option is available:
•
VAS traffic-link {link-0|link-1|auto-select}
— The link number on which to transmit VAS traffic

For VAS over 10G, specify
auto-select.
Step 1
From the SCE(config if)# prompt, type
no VAS-traffic-forwarding traffic-link
and press
