Use the
ethernet uni
interface configuration command to create an Ethernet user-network interface
(UNI) ID. Use the
no
form of this command to remove the UNI ID.

When you configure a UNI ID on a port, that ID is used as the default name for all maintenance end
points (MEPs) configured on the port.
You must enter the
ethernet uni id
name
command on all ports that are directly connected to
customer-edge (CE) devices. If the specified ID is not unique on the device, an error message appears.

This example shows how to identify a unique UNI:
