Positioning the Electrodes
Position the required electrodes on the part of the body to
be treated according to the medical indication. Refer to the
indications table at the end of this instruction manual and
also observe the following information:
The electrodes must be positioned so as to avoid
overheating due to edge effects. The surfaces of the
electrodes must be nearly parallel to the area being treated.
It is possible, however, to use these edge effects for
therapeutic purposes.
NOTE:
If such an effect is expressly desired, the dosage must be
controlled very carefully.
Correct positioning of the electrodes for the Edge Effect
allows for equal distribution of the concentrated heating
effect. Local overheating can occur in the electric field due to
one-sided application of electrodes or the presence of metal
objects (e.g. earrings, metal implants).
