10.5 Measuring in Vibration mode
In this mode, the SC310 makes an analysis in real time of the overall acceleration and
frequential acceleration in third octave band from 1Hz to 80Hz. To evaluate the frequential
parameters, it is measured the RMS value of the averaged acceleration during the evaluation
time T that can be programmed. This period is also used for the evaluation of the overall
parameter with frequency weighting W
m
.
10.5.1 Prior adjustments: Sensitivity
The mode for vibration measurements adds a new option in the settings menu that allows
you to apply a different sensitivity when using both modes: “Human exposure to whole-body
vibration in buildings” and “FFT narrow band frequency analysis for vibration”. This way
allows you not to loose the microphone sensitivity adjustment.
Then selecting the option SETTINGS
Î
SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENTS from the SC310
menu the next screen will appear
To adjust the microphone sensitivity, choose the MICROPHONE option
To adjust the accelerometer sensitivity, choose the ACCELEROMETER option
If you have acquired the SC310 sound level meter with the Human exposure to whole-body
vibration in buildings module included and with a
accelerometer, you should
not make any sensitivity adjusts. This already comes adjusted with the adquired
accelerometer.
If you have adquired the module after buying the SC310 and you are using a
accelerometer, follow the next steps to adjust the sensitivity from the accelerometer.
1)
Select the option SETTINGS
Î
SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENTS
Î
ACCELEROMETER from the SC310 menu.
2) It appears the next screen:
