Model SDI-50 Manual, Level Adjustments
the interconnect. To enable or disable the single "#" disconnect,
this function is turned on or off as follows:
* 5 (tone) 22 (tone) 1 (tone) ;single "#" disconnect
* 5 (tone) 22 (tone) O (tone) ;Disconnect Code
6.5.11 Sample Rate Multiplier (*5 23, 24)
Switches 23 and 24 have a dual function. See below for duplex use of
these switches.
When the SDI-50 is used in simplex mode, the VOX circuit monitors
telephone audio and modifies the sample rate to reduce the
interruptions in transmission and determine the optimum sample time.
When phone line audio ceases, the sample rate returns to the
programmed rate. On the initial connect, dial tone audio is ignored
and the sample rate will be at the programmed rate. After dialing,
the Model SDI-50 will begin responding to telephone line audio and
decreasing the sample rate.
The sample rate will automatically be slowed down to provide less
interruptions in the phone line audio. When turned on, switch 23 will
multiply the sample rate by two, switch 24 multiplies it by four, and
with both on, the rate is multiplied by eight.
23 24 _________ Change to Sample______
off off
no sample rate change
on off
rate change is X2
off on
rate change is X4
on on
rate change is X8
Example: The sample rate has been set to one sample per second and it
is desired that it be once every two seconds when phone line audio is
present. Enter the following:
*5(tone) 23(tone) l(tone) ;turn on X2
*5(tone) 24(tone) O(tone) ;turn off X4
6.5.12 Repeat Enable (*5 23)
For duplex use only. This switch allows receive audio to be repeated
for mobile to mobile communication. This is most useful when the SDI-
50 is connected to two separate radios and used as a repeater.
*5 (tone) 23 (tone) 1 (tone) ;enable repeat audio
*5 (tone) 23 (tone) O (tone) ;disable repeat audio
