Model SDI-50 Manual, Level Adjustments
Time Out Message (*9 2) - The time out message is sent if the
Call Limit Timer or the Mobile Activity Timer has expired and
the SDI-50 originales the disconnect.
Error/Signal Message (*9 3) - The Error/Signal Message is sent
on two different occurrences:
> Signalling: It alerts the mobile operator of an incomming
land line call. The SDI-50 will send the Error Message each
time it detects ring voltage on the phone line. If the message
programmed into the Error Message area is longer than four or
five seconds in duration (the interval between rings), then the
message will be sent on every other ring detected.
> Error: This Message is used to indicate to the mobile
operator of an error in accessing the interconnect. For example,
this condition exists when a mobile operator tries to dial a
restricted phone number, or during programming if an invalid
program code is entered.
NOTE: Never remove the Error Message. This Message is essential
to inform the operator of several functions and error conditions
durring use and programming; thus, a programmed message shouid
always be present. It's characters may be changed, but do not
remove them all.
Station I.D. Message (*9 4) - The Station I.D. Message is sent
each time the Station Identification Interval Timer (*1 6) has
elapsed. It is only sent when carrier activity is seen on the
channel. If the I.D. timer times out durring a period of
inactivity, the I.D. message will be sent upon the next
occurrence of mobile activity.
All Messages are limited to eleven characters each and mustbe
terminated with a stop bit ("08"). If an Message is removed, a stop
bit ("08") must be entered in its place.
Example: To remove the Connect Message, enter *9
(tone) O (tone) O8 (tone)
Message's are programmed by selecting the two digit codes from the
"Message Programming Table" which represents the alpha numeric
characters used in the message.
