Problem
12-volt equipment does
not function.
Individual 12-volt
component does not
function.
Cabin lights do not
come on or are dim.
Battery does not hold a
charge.
Engine is running and
voltmeter does not
indicate adequate
voltage.
Possible Cause
Battery master disconnect switch
is in the “OFF” position.
Main - One or Main - Two circuit
breaker on the Safety Breaker
Panel is “OFF.”
Systems DC Main or Bridge DC
Main circuit breaker on the DC
Control Center is “OFF.”
Battery is weak or dead.
Circuit breaker for that compo-
nent is “OFF.”
Battery is weak or dead.
A wire within the 12-volt system
is loose or disconnected.
The appropriate circuit
breaker(s) on the DC Control
Center is “OFF.”
Battery is weak or dead.
One or more light bulbs are
burned out.
Battery failed.
Engine alternator belt is
loose.
Possible Solution
Turn the switch to the “ON” posi-
tion.
Turn both circuit breakers “ON.”
Turn the circuit breaker “ON.”
Start the engines or activate the
battery chargers.
Switch the circuit breaker for that
component “ON.”
Start the engines or activate the
battery chargers.
Locate and repair the wire.
Switch circuit breaker(s) “ON.”
Start the engines or activate the
battery chargers.
Replace light bulb(s).
Replace with a new battery.
Refer to engine OEM information
to tighten the belt.
