REPLACING TRANSDUCER — The pressure transducer
should be mounted on an access fitting with a Schrader valve.
Use caution when removing the transducer. Use a back-up
wrench to secure the fitting while removing and installing the
pressure transducer. Be sure to loop cable and secure with a
wire tie to create a strain relief as shown in Fig. 48 on page 40.
Temperature Relief Devices —
All units have tem-
perature relief devices to protect against damage from exces-
sive pressures caused by extreme high temperatures (i.e., fire).
These devices protect the high and low side and are installed in
the liquid line between the condenser coils and the liquid line
service valve.
Thermistors —
Several styles of thermistors are used in
the 38AP units. See Thermistors on page 28 for specific infor-
mation on each thermistor. Thermistor connections are made
to both the MBB and AUX Board. See Fig. 184 and 185.

WARNING
Care should be exercised while removing any device, pres-
sure sensing device or cap from an access fitting. Refriger-
ant system is under pressure. Be sure to use proper personal
protection equipment to guard against accidental exposure
to refrigerant.
