Attention:
Multiprotocol interface standard operation is enabled
by moving
J3
to position
1
.
1. Connecting to an access control device
WIEGAND or SERIAL protocol:
The physical connection between the access
control device and the
RCQ504/508W00
interface
is carried out at the following binding posts:
9
(DO),
8
(DI) and
6
(GND).
ISO2 protocol (magnetic stripe)
The physical connection between the access
control device and the
RCQ504/508W00
is
carried out at the following binding posts:
9
(RCP, "read clock pulse"),
8
(RDP, "read data
pulse"),
7
(CLS, "card loading signal") and
6
(GND).
2. Choosing the output protocol
The interface has 16 different
formats for communicating with
the access control device. 11 of
these formats are
WIEGAND
, one
is
ISO2, one
is
SERIAL
and 3 are
CARDIN
formats. They can be
selected using the dip-switch "
S1
".
To select the output protocol
proceed as follows:
- switch off the interface;
- set the dips following the table;
- press and hold down
P1
;
- switch on the interface which will sound one long
beep
.
The protocol has been set.
For a detailed description of the bit transmission
sequence consult paragraphs 4 - 5 - 6 and 7.
3. Selecting the output voltage
There are three different methods for choosing the output voltage for the
formats
WIEGAND
,
ISO2
and
SERIAL
:
1) 12 Vdc
output with jumper "
J4
" in position "
1
".
2) 5 Vdc
output with jumper "
J4
" in position "
2
".
3) TTL
Open collector output with jumper "
J4
"
in position "
3
"
(open contact).
