CHAPTER 3 TROUBLESHOOTING

It may be upgraded using the Service Support Tool as shown in the following diagram;

for an introduction to how to use the Service Support Tool, see the host’s Service Manual.

1) Using the System CD, copy the firmware fails for the Board to the Service Support

Tool. At the end, [G3FAX] will appear under [iR2200] as a unit.

2) Connect the PC on which the Service Support Tool is run to the host. The connection

may be by means of a parallel cable or by way of a network.

3) Make the following selections in service mode: COPIER>Function>Download; then,

operate the host so that it is ready for downloading. (You cannot upgrade G3FAX in
Download Mode, which request presses on both 2 and 8 keys to start.)

4) Select [G3FAX] under [iR2200], which appeared in step 1), and start downloading. Take

care not to turn off the power until downloading ends.

5) When downloading has ended, you must turn off and then on the host.
6) When the host has started up, make the following selections to check the version of the

new firmware: COPIER>Display>Version>FAX (e.: WLD-05-03).

If upgrading has failed (as by turning off the power in the middle by mis-
take), you must replace the DIMM ROM to upgrade. Take extra care.
