CHAPTER 5 SERVICE MODE

1 Service Mode
1.1 Outline
The service mode function consists of the following nine items (#1 through #5, #7
through #10):
#1 SSSW: service soft switch
Use it to enter inputs/settings associated with basic fax service functions: e.g., error man
agement, echo correction, communication error correction.
#2 MENU: menu switch setting
Use it to enter inputs/settings associated with functions needed at time of installation; e.g.,
NL equalizer, transmission level.
#3 NUMERIC Param: numeric parameter setting
Use it to enter numeric parameters.
#4: NCU: (disabled for service)
All settings under the item will collectively set in response to the #5 TYPE setting.
#5 TYPE: country setting
These setting items are for telephone network control functions such as the selection sig-
nal transmission conditions and the detection conditions, for the control signals sent from
the exchange.
#7 PRINTER: printer functions setting
Use it to enter inputs/settings associated with the basic printer functions; e.g., reduction
preferences for received images.
#8 CLEAR: data initialization mode setting
Use it to initialize various data to their initial settings.
#9 TEST:
Use it to execute various tests.
#10 REPORT:
Use it to print a report.
