5.2 Answering Machine Connection
This connection is for effective use of an answering machine connected to the extension phone jack. If the
other party is a telephone, the answering telephone records the message, and if the other party is a fax, the
fax receives automatically.
5.2.1 Settings
(1) Connect the answering machine to the extension telephone jack, and set the answering machine to
“Answer”
.
(2) Press the fax’s
Receive Mode
button and select the Ans. Machine mode.

5.3 Manual/Auto Reception Switching
Determines if the fax switches to document receive mode, after the fax rings for a specified time when the
fax is in the manual receive mode.
5.3.1 Settings
(1) Set the
“MAN/AUTO SWITCH”
in the user data
“RX SETTINGS”
to
“ON”
.
(2) Set the number of seconds that the fax will wait after detecting ringing signal from the telephone line
before going into reception, using user data
“F/T RING TIME”
in
“MAN/AUTO SWITCH”
.
