Printer Controller (ZC3500080)/Printer Controller (ZC3500130/PS) Installation Guide

(2) Installing the printer circuit board

1. With the 

im2520f

, disconnect the Ni-MH battery cable

 from CN3 on

the MFB3 circuit board. 
This protects the memory chips from damage. 

NOTE
Disconnecting the Ni-MH battery cable from CN3 on the MFB3 circuit board cuts off the
power supply from the Ni-MH battery to the added memory. In the worst case, failure to
disconnect the battery cable can cause damage to the memory chips. 

3. With the 

im2520f

, reconnect the Ni-MH battery cable to

 CN3 on the MFB3 

circuit board. 

NOTE
Failure to reconnect the battery cable will leave the machine without backup power in
case of a power failure. Be sure to reconnect the battery cable.

(3) Replace the CompactFlash card (only with the 

ZC3500130

)

(4) Install the network interface card 

Add the network interface card. 

See the Network Interface Card Installation Guide for more information. 

(5) Reassembly 

Perform the disassembly steps in reverse to reassemble. 

NOTE

• Make sure that plugs are oriented correctly when connecting cables. 
• Tighten screws so the spacing between adjoining covers is uniform. 

2. Install the printer circuit board into expan-

sion slot 1 (CN4) on the printed circuit board
assembly’s MFB3 circuit board.

NOTE

• Do not touch the terminals of the printer

circuit board with your bare hands.
Making sure that the notch in the circuit
board is oriented correctly, install the
board so it snaps securely into place. 

• When adding the Network Scan Kit ,

Internet Fax & Network Scan Kit, or
expansion memory, install the applicable
circuit board to expansion slot 2 (CN5)
here. See the Network Interface Card 
Installation Manual for more information.

1. Remove the ROM cover on the right side of

the scanner.

2. Remove the CompactFlash card that is

already installed.

3. Install the CompactFlash card included with

the printer controller (

ZC3500130

).

4. Install the ROM cover into original position.

interface card (

).
