Handheld Shooting of Night Scenes
The <
F
> (Handheld Night Scene) mode enables you to shoot night scenes
even while handholding the camera. In this shooting mode, four shots are
taken consecutively for each picture, and the resulting one image with
reduced camera shake is recorded.
Shooting Tips

Hold the camera steady.
Keep your elbows close to your body to hold the camera steady (
=
56).
In this mode, four shots are aligned and merged into a single image.
However, if there is signifi cant misalignment in any of the four shots due
to camera shake, they may not align properly in the fi nal image.
 For portraits, use fl ash.
If your shots will include people, use the built-in fl ash or an external
Speedlite. To take a nice portrait, the fi rst shot will use fl ash. Tell the
subject not to move until all four consecutive shots are taken.
