5.2 Retrieving Data from MicroSD Card
The computer used to retrieve files from the MicroSD card must have MLGateway and MultiLogger installed.
1. Open MultiLogger and select the correct station. It is important the right station is selected. If uploading
data from the incorrect station, the import will be aborted.
2. Insert the microSD Card. If computer does not have a microSD reader than an external reader should be
used.
3. In MultiLogger, from the GPS Logger form, click
Maintenance
from the toolbar and select
Transfer raw
files
.
(Figure 5.2 A)
4. Navigate to the location of the files, either on the SD card or where the files have been copied, select the
Data
folder, and click
OK
. MultiLogger identifies the stations raw files since the last collection and copies
them to MLGateway.
NOTE - If copying files to your machine, DO NOT rename or move files!! Copy the folders for the dates to be
transferred from the SD card, not just individual files to your local machine, and not directly into the MLGateway folder.
When selecting the folders to be imported, keep in mind raw files are named using times stamps in GMT (Greenwich
mean Time) and one additional day should be selected to ensure all data is transferred.
Hint - Files with a timestamp preceding
that of the last collection will not be imported. If the microSD card includes
older files that need to be imported contact Canary Systems.
(Figure 5.2 B)
Processing of the solutions runs automatically when all files are available.
For a Rover station this includes files from both the Rover itself and its Base station. In most cases the Base
station will have a network connection and files will be automatically collected. However, if the Base station is
also Offline Only, its files must be manually transferred to MLGateway before Processing can begin. See
Appendix C - Configuring Offline Only Stations
for more information on configuring a Base Station that is
Offline Only.
After the files have been retrieved from the microSD card, the card can be reused the next time files are
manually collected from that station.
