Position Solutions
Solutions are added and configured through the Position Solutions group. Click
to add a new solution. Click
to remove the selected solution.
(Figure 4.4.2 G)
Solution Type
‒ There are three solution types:
▪
None
‒ The solution is disabled.
▪
Single
‒ For applications where Differential GPS is not being used. Positional data are averaged
without corrections provided by a reference Base Station.
▪
Static
‒ For applications using Differential GPS. Corrections provided by a Base Station are used
in the processing of positional data.
Interval
‒ The interval defines the position averaging period length for the solution. The longer the period, the
more precise the solution. Table 4.4 A below displays the approximate precision depending on the averaging
interval for four example periods:
Interval
Precision
15 Minutes
25 mm
1 Hour
20 mm
6 Hours
10 mm
24 Hours
2.5 mm
(Table 4.4.2 A)
Base Station
‒ For static solutions, a Base Station must be specified, as this solution type relies on a
reference point to measure change in position of the Rover. Any configured Base Stations on the network will
appear in this drop-down.
Instrument Name
‒ Each solution is imported into the database as an Instrument. This field allows for
configuration of the solution's Instrument name.
Description
‒ A description of the solution can be entered to help differentiate it from the others.
DB Import
‒ When checked, the solution's processed data is set to be imported to the database through
automatic import.
Once configured, the solution's post processing settings become available in the
Rover Position Post
Processing group
in the
Advanced Settings tab
. See the following section for more details.
