STEP 26
Use a hoist and clevis (1) as shown to carefully install
the spindle assembly in the spindle housing.
NOTE: It is important to keep the spindle assembly
level during Step 26 through 30.
STEP 27
Install 2P-0082 (1) and the spindle locknut (2). Use
the 2P-0083 Spindle Locknut Socket to tighten the
locknut and pull the spindle assembly and seal into
the spindle housing.
NOTE: Strike the backside (3) of the spindle
assembly with a rubber hammer to help seat the seal
when the locknut is tight.
Remove the locknut (2) and 2P-0082 Spacer Tool (1)
from the spindle.
NOTE: It may be necessary to use the two bolts
provided with the 2P-0082 spacer to remove the
spacer from the spindle.
STEP 28
Heat the outer cone (1) to 300°F (148°C) for 20
minutes.
Hold the spindle in the housing and install the outer
bearing cone (1).
WARNING: Use protective gloves when handling the
bearing cone (1).
