Use and maintenance manual – Translation of
original Instruction.: 01, Date 04/11/2021
2.2.3 Clothing and equipment
•
Always use adequate clothing as called for by the job. Wear tight clothing. Do not wear ties, necklaces or belts or
keep loose long hair, which may get caught in the moving parts. Use anti-sliding shoes and protective, anti-perfora-
tion gloves.
•
Wear protective glasses or a visor, safety shoes, anti-vibration gloves and a noise-abatement headset
2.2.4 Workplace safety
•
Use the tool only in good visibility conditions. A dark work area could cause accidents.
Do not make cuts in low
light conditions, such as in the dark in closed or open environments, at night, at sunset, at dawn, with dust or sand
in the air that prevents clear visibility from a distance of less than 2 meters. To check whether the visibility is ac-
ceptable, put the tool at a distance of 2 meters with visible labels, which must be clearly read.
•
Do not use the tool in an explosive, flammable or damp environment.
•
Keep children, bystanders or animals at a safe distance before operating the tool, in order to avoid dangers or inju-
ries. When determining the safety distance, assess the risk of free falling branches being thrown at people, objects
or animals. Under normal conditions of tension, 5 meters is the adequate safety distance from the ends of the
branches.
2.2.5 Electric safety
•
Before, during or after its use, do not leave the tool in the water, in humid environments or in any other damp con-
dition, in order to avoid the risk of electric shocks or short circuits.
•
Keep the tool away from heat, oil, solvents, sharp edges and moving parts.
• Never leave the tool under the rain. Keep it in a dry place.
•
Leakage of liquid from the battery could cause injuries to the operator. Do not touch the battery fluid. In case of
contact, rinse abundantly with clean water. If the liquid comes into contact with the eyes, thoroughly rinse with clean
water and immediately contact a specialized doctor.
Carefully read the following instructions. To neglect them could cause electric shocks, fire or serious dam-
ages.
2.3 Use warnings
2.3.1 Tool use warnings
•
Never use the tool if it is damaged, incorrectly regulated or only partially assembled.
•
Keep a safe and stable working position, which guarantees a perfect balance (i.e. flat and dry surface).
•
Never use the tool, if the ON/OFF button (10) is faulty.
•
Use the tool, its accessories, etc. according to these instructions and focusing on the work conditions and on the
operations to be carried out.
•
Always check that the safety devices are perfectly efficient.
•
Before starting the tool, make sure the chain (1) is not in contact with anything.
•
When cutting, make the motor run at high speed.
•
Be very careful when cutting bushes or small shrubs, since soft parts may get entangled in the chain (1) and then
may be thrown against the operator, or they may make him loose his balance.
•
Be very careful with the handle (11). It must always be perfectly dry, clean and free from oil residues.
•
Check the oil level. It must always reach at least the half of the chain reservoir. Lack of oil causes chain (1) seizing.
•
Keep the bar (2) and the chain (1) clean.
•
It is forbidden to operate the tool on ladders.
•
Never cut branches which are close to electric wires.
•
Do not touch the chain (1) while it is rotating
•
Be careful with the kickback effects due to upwards directed reaction movements of the bar. They may make the
operator lose his balance or the tool control.
•
Be careful when cutting free falling branches. They could cause loss of control of the tool.
•
Inhaling atomized oil and/or wooden dust can cause irritation or intoxication of the operator’s breathing system. In
case of prolonged problems, please contact a specialist.
•
Be always focused on what you are doing and use common sense when operating tools.
