Bush Hog RTXG series Tillers are shipped from the factory partially assembled in a shipping crate and requires
some assembly before being placed into service.
Follow these instructions listed to safely remove the Tiller from the shipping crate and prepare for assembly
1. With the tiller still in the shipping crate, place it on a hard level surface.
2. Remove the crating top and sides and discard.
3. Remove the driveshaft and the Mast Frame
assembly from the shipping assembly and lay
aside for installation later.
4. Insert a lifting strap in the gearbox mounting
frame.
5. Carefully lift the tiller assembly from the
shipping pallet.
6. Remove parking stand from storage position
and place in parking position. (Fig. 3-2A)
7. Place tiller on hard level surface for assembly and remove lift strap.
8. Remove the 10 bolts, Lockwashers and Nuts, 5 on each side, from the strongbacks on the top of the
mainframe. Retain fasteners for re-installation of the Mast Frame to the mainframe.
9. Place the Mast Frame between the strongbacks on the mainframe so the cut outs straddle the driveline
tube and align the bolt holes. (Figure 3-2B)
10. Re-install the fasteners and torque the fasteners per the settings in the torque chart in the back of this
manual.
