C.2.4.2 Removing a PCI Card
CAUTION:
PCI cards are EXTREMELY SENSITIVE to electrostatic discharge. To avoid damage, you
are advised to wear anti-static gloves, to be grounded, to store PCI cards in antistatic
packaging, and to hold PCI cards by the edges without touching connectors.
Ensure that all cables connecting the PCI card to the server are disconnected before
removal.
1. Remove the top cover. See Section C.2.2.1.
IMPORTANT:
In case of hot-removing and before removing the PCI card, press for five seconds the
corresponding lens switch and check that its power LED goes OFF changing from green to
blinking to OFF.
2. Raise the corresponding PCI caution plate and push the PCI card lock toward the outer
frame.
