Hot-swapping a HDD 

 

CAUTION: 

 

Only defective components should be hot-swapped (red status LED). Hot-swapping non-

defective components may result in server malfunction. 

 

 

IMPORTANT: 
For safe and secure handling, we recommend that you hold the HDD in its tray with both 

hands. 

1.  Locate the defective HDD (red status LED). 

2.  Remove the defective HDD. See Section C.2.3.3. steps 1 to 3 

3.  Install the new HDD. See Section C.2.3.2. Steps 4 and 5
