Installing a PCI Card 

 

CAUTION: 

 

PCI cards are EXTREMELY SENSITIVE to electrostatic discharge. To avoid damage, you 

are advised to wear anti-static gloves, to be grounded, to store PCI cards in antistatic 

packaging, and to hold PCI cards by the edges without touching connectors. 

 

Ensure that all cables connecting the PCI card to the server are disconnected before 

removal. 

1.  Remove the top cover. See Section C.2.2.1. 

2.  Locate the required PCI slot. 

3.  Raise the corresponding PCI caution plate and push the PCI card lock towards the 

outer frame.
