Carrying out an evaporation

8.1
Preparing the instrument
Precondition:

All commissioning operations have been completed. See Chapter 5 "Installation",
page 21
R
Make sure that no defective sealings or glass parts are used.
u
Set the On/Off master switch to On.
ð
The instrument is starting up.
u
Check the filling level of the heating bath.

Starting an evaporation

Set heating bath temperature.
u
Switch on the recirculating chiller or open the water tap.
u
Set the vacuum option on the Interface. See operation manual
"Interface I-300
Pro "
u
Add product. Add product. See Chapter 7.2 "Operating the inlet valve", page 44
u
Lift the heating bath.
u
Start the rotation.

Task during an evaporation
u
If necessary, carry out the following tasks:
Adjust the vacuum.
Adjust the bath temperature.
Adjust rotation speed.
If foam increase, press the
Aerate
button.
Add product. See Chapter 7.2 "Operating the inlet valve", page 44
Remove distillate. See Chapter 7.4 "Draining distillate", page 45

Ending an evaporation
Precondition:

The sample is evaporated.
u
Press stop on the function bar at I-300Pro.
u
Lower heating bath.
u
Empty the receiver flask. See Chapter 7.4 "Draining distillate", page 45
u
Wait until the evaporation flask temperature is less than 40 °C.
u
Remove the evaporation flask. See Chapter 7.1 "Installing and removing the
evaporation flask", page 43
u
Clean the glassware.
