Installing the IRAS-24A Driver with Windows NT 4.0
3-25
Installing Remote Access Service (RAS)
Once the adapter card has been successfully installed and
modem installation is complete, Remote Access Service has
to be configured on your system. This will allow users to dial
into the server to be connected.
❐
If RAS is already configured on your system,
Windows NT may prompt you to “Add RAS ports”
after the “Add Modems” step is completed. If you are
not prompted, click
Add
from the Remote Access
Setup screen (Figure 3-16) and begin with step 3.
❐
If RAS is not already installed on your server,
continue with the instructions below.
NOTE:
You will need your Windows NT Server CD-ROM
(or diskettes).
Service Pack Information
If you are currently running a Windows NT 4.0 service pack
and then install Remote Access Service from your original
Windows NT 4.0 CD-ROM, you will need to reinstall the
service pack once you are finished installing RAS. If RAS is
already installed on your system, reinstalling the service
pack is not necessary. Reinstalling the service pack is only
necessary when you have installed files from your original
Windows NT 4.0 CD-ROM onto a system that already is
upgraded to some service pack level.
NOTE:
You must be running Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 or
higher for the IRAS-24A to function properly.
