Connecting to
the CSU After you physically install the IRAS-24A card, connect the
T1 interface port to an external CSU.
NOTE: If your card is the IRAS-24AC, skip to “Checking LEDs
(Optional)” in the next section. The IRAS-24AC does not
require an external CSU connection.
To connect the IRAS-24A card to the CSU/T1 line:
1. Plug one end of the external CSU cable provided by
Brooktrout into the T1 interface port on the board’s
bracket.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to the external
CSU, usually the port connector labeled “CPE”.
3. Connect the T1 line to the CSU as described in the
manuals supplied with the CSU, usually to the jack
labeled “Network”.
