APPENDIX 4: TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

PROBLEM
SOLUTION(S)
Heater does not warm up
Verify heater is connected to proper voltage.
Verify operation of Module.
Check to see if there is a resistance reading (not an open circuit)
in heater using an ohm meter.
No LED light displayed
If operator interface unit, verify that power is being supplied to
unit.
Make sure communication cable is secure.
For Module unit, verify that the communication cable is properly
connected.
LED is blinking red

Operator interface does not
detect all of the modules or
”No Zones Detected”
Check to see the number of modules does not exceed 128.
Check communication cable to make sure there is a connection.
Check for bad communication cable.
RTD Open or Shorted
(Open/Short)
Check connection of wiring or replace RTD.
Net Com Error
Verify communication cable is properly connected to modules.
Line Com Error
Verify heater has power applied and is properly connected.
Power circuit breaker trips
Validate that the circuit breaker is capable of handling the
amperage requirement of heater.
Examine system for any damage.
