Handling steps for the use of the pressure relief socket
Check the following points before using the pressure relief socket:
•
Connect the tank port (marking T) of the component (e.g. directional valve) with the tank
port at the P/T distributor of the work station and operate the component, e.g. switch the
directional valve.
•
Connect a hydraulic hose line (e.g. R961002474) at the tank port of the P/T distributor.
Then connect the other side of the hydraulic hose line with the connection which cannot
be coupled.
If the preceding steps have not been successful and the coupling connector is still blocked,
use the pressure relief socket.
Screw out the spindle of the pressure relief socket completely by rotating
it counterclockwise.
Push the pressure relief socket onto the coupling connector to be unloaded. While doing
so, operate the locking sleeve (fig. 56. –1.2).
Hold the pressure relief socket with one hand and with the other hand operate the spindle.
Rotate the spindle clockwise and screw it in until you can feel resistance. Screw in the
spindle further, max. 3 rotations.
Check whether the coupling connector is now unloaded.
Check whether the locking mechanism of the coupling connector is functional.
When using the pressure relief socket, do not use any other aids (such as extensions) in
order to increase the spindle force. When using the pressure relief socket, a small quantity
of hydraulic fluid may leak. Keep corresponding cleaning cloths ready. Dispose of used
cleaning cloths according to the country-specific regulations. Also observe the safety
instructions in chap. 15.1.
If the pressure relief socket does not work as the residual pressure is too high, you have to
disconnect the coupling connector. The corresponding actions are described in the
following section.
