Operation
Crash caused by material fatigue
Intensive use can cause material fatigue. A
component may suddenly fail in case of material
fatigue. This may cause a crash with injuries.
Remove the
ebike
from service immediately
if
there are any signs of material fatigue. Have
your specialist dealer inspect the component.
Arrange the mandatory maintenance
appointments with your specialist dealer on a
regular basis. During maintenance, the
specialist dealer will inspect the
ebike
for
any
signs of material fatigue on the frame,
fork,
suspension element mountings (if there
are
any) and components made of composite
materials.
Carbon becomes brittle when exposed to
heat radiation such as heati
ers
. This can
cause the carbon part to break and result in a
crash with injuries.
Never expose carbon parts on the
ebike
to
strong sources of heat.
Crash caused by poor road conditions
Loose objects, such as branches and twigs, may
become caught in the wheels and cause a crash
with injuries.
Be aware of the road conditions.
Ride slowly and brake in good time.
The
tires
may slip on wet roads. In wet conditions
you must also expect a longer braking distance.
The braking sensation differs from the usual
sensation. This can cause loss of control or a
crash, which may result in injuries.
Ride slowly and brake in good time when it is
raining.
CAUTION
!
Crash caused by soiling
Heavy soiling can impair
ebike
functions, such
as braking. This may cause a crash with injuries.
Remove coarse soiling before riding.
Notice
Heat or direct sunlight can cause the
tire
pressure
to increase above the permitted maximum
pressure. This can destroy the
tires
.
Never park the
ebike
in the sun.
On hot days, regularly check the
tire
pressure
and adjust it as necessary.
When riding downhill, high speeds may be
reached. The
ebike
is only designed to exceed
a speed of
20mp
h for short intervals. The
tires
in particular can fail if exposed to a continuous
load.
Use the brakes to decelerate the
ebike
if
you reach speeds greater than
20mp
h.
Moisture penetrating at low temperatures may
impair individual functions due to the open
structural design.
Always keep the
ebike
dry and free from
frost.
If the
ebike
is used at temperatures below
37ºF
, the specialist dealer must perform an
inspection beforehand and prepared it for
winter use.
Off-road riding subjects the joints in the arms to
severe strain. Take a break from riding every
30 to 90 minutes, depending on the road surface
and your physical fitness.
CAUTION
