Fit the cap and turn it clockwise until you
clearly hear a click.

2.

Press on the fuel filler flap until it engages.

Emergency unlocking

It may be necessary in certain situations to un‐
lock the fuel filler flap manually, for instance with
an electrical fault.
The release is located in the cargo area.

1.

Press the button, arrow 1, and open the
cover, arrow 2.

2.

Pull the green knob with the fuel pump sym‐
bol. This silently releases the fuel filler flap.

3.

To open the fuel filler flap, press on the rear
edge, arrow. The fuel filler flap opens.

4.

Carefully open the fuel cap. Excess pressure
can build up in the fuel tank from gasoline va‐
por.

5.

Refuel the vehicle as usual. The excess pres‐
sure in the tank may make refueling difficult,
for instance the fuel pump nozzle may shut
off frequently.

Have the vehicle checked immediately by a deal‐
er's service center or another qualified service
center or repair shop.
