Optimum energy recovery
Foresighted driving and decelerating helps with
optimizing energy recovery.
As soon as the display shows the maximum en‐
ergy recovery, only press the brake pedal harder
if required by the situation.
Exemplary traffic situations for fuel
efficiency
In many driving situations, the hybrid system al‐
lows for a particularly efficient energy manage‐
ment.
▷
Stop-and-go traffic:
The combustion engine is switched on or
over automatically by the hybrid system.
▷
Driving with constant speed:
The electric motor relieves the combustion
engine periodically by also being switched on.
Optimizing fuel consumption
Charging the vehicle regularly
Charge the vehicle regularly and completely us‐
ing a suitable charging device. This will reduce
fuel consumption due to the use of electrical en‐
ergy.
Longer idle periods can reduce the charge state
of the high-voltage battery.
Using the stationary climate control
regularly
Run advance climate control in the vehicle during
charging before driving off. This optimizes the
range.
Stationary climate control, refer to page
Avoiding the use of the combustion
engine
Follow the following information to avoid using
the combustion engine:
▷
Set the properties of the hybrid system to
ELECTRIC or ELECTRIC INDIVIDUAL using
Driving Dynamics Control.
Driving Dynamics Control, refer to page
.
▷
Follow the indicators for electric driving in the
instrument cluster. Further information: elec‐
tric driving: ELECTRIC and ELECTRIC INDI‐
VIDUAL.
Displays of the hybrid system, refer to
page
.
Using the navigation system
regularly
Use the navigation system also for familiar and
regularly traveled routes. When the navigation
system destination guidance is active, the hybrid
system uses the existing navigation data. The
upcoming course of the road is analyzed. Hybrid
operation adapts to the specific route sections.
The function may be restricted if the navigation
data is invalid, outdated or not available, for ex‐
ample.
Driving modes for
optimizing consumption
Concept
The HYBRID ECO PRO and ELECTRIC INDI‐
VIDUAL driving modes support a fuel-efficient
driving style. For this purpose, comfort features
such as the climate control output and, where
applicable, the engine control are adjusted. In
ELECTRIC INDIVIDUAL driving mode, deactiva‐
tion of comfort functions must be set first.
Under certain conditions the engine is automati‐
cally decoupled from the transmission in the
D selector lever position and the engine is
switched off. The D selector lever position re‐
mains engaged.

PRO tips, can be displayed in HYBRID ECO PRO
