56 OPERATION
IGNITION SWITCH/STEERING
LOCK
Keys
You receive 2 vehicle keys.
If a key is lost or mislaid, con-
sult the notes on the electronic
immobiliser (EWS) ( 57).
Ignition switch/steering lock,
fuel filler cap lock and lock for
the tail-hump cover are all op-
erated with the same key.
Engaging steering lock
Turn the handlebars all the
way to the left.
Turn the ignition key to po-
sition 1 , while moving the
handlebars slightly.
Ignition, lights and all function
circuits switched off.
Steering lock engaged.
Vehicle key can be removed.
Switching on ignition
Turn the ignition key to posi-
tion 1 .
Side lights and all function
circuits switched on.
Engine can be started.
Pre-Ride-Check is performed.

DTC self-diagnosis is in pro-
gress. ( 127)
Switching off ignition
Turn the ignition key to posi-
tion 1 .
Lights switched off.
Handlebars not locked.
Vehicle key can be removed.
