Attach the keyboard, video, and mouse connectors of a CPU-style three-to-one
KVM-extension cable to the matching ports on the CPU, as shown in Figure 6-1.
(This cable is included with the Switching Remote Unit; it’s available separately as
product code EHN230 otherwise.) Attach the DB25 male connector of this cable to
one of the Local Hub’s DB25 female composite CPU-port KVM connectors, or to
the connector of the same type on the Switching Remote Unit.

To make the additional serial connection from a CPU to a KVM/Serial or

KVM/Serial/Audio Local Hub, attach the female end of a DB9 male-to-female
serial-extension cable such as EDN12H-MF to the CPU’s serial (COM) port, then
attach the male end of the cable to the matching DB9 female serial port in the
Local Hub’s

top

row of connectors, directly above the DB25 that you just plugged

the EHN230 cable into.

To make the additional audio connections from a CPU to a KVM/Serial/Audio

Local Hub, first run a standard 3.5-mm male-to-male stereo audio-extension cable
such as EJ110-0010 from the CPU’s audio-out port to the Local Hub’s “audio in”
port. Then run another such cable from the CPU’s microphone port to the Local
Hub’s “audio out” port. See

Section 6.2.1

for additional guidelines.
