CHAPTER 6: Installation and Adjustment
7.
KVM/Serial and KVM/Serial/Audio systems only:
Make sure that any serial
devices attached to your Remotes are working. You might need to load a
driver or run an application in order for the CPU to be able to detect and
handle the serial data.
8.
KVM/Serial/Audio systems only:
Make sure that any audio devices attached to
your Remotes are working.
If everything works in your test setup, repeat the above steps for your actual
installation. (You can mount the Local Hub—using your own screws, bolts, or cage
nuts—in 1U of space in a standard 19" rack. For information about rackmounting
any of your full size [non-Micro] Remote Units or Remote Hubs, see
Appendix B
.)
If everything works in the actual installation, you can proceed to adjust the remote
sites’ video (see
Section 6.4
).
Figures 6-13 through 6-16 below and on the following pages show completed
Rackmount Extender installations.

four of the Local Hub’s CPU ports are shown, and no audio or remote-
CPU connections are included. All of the serial cables and connectors are
illustrated with dashed lines. )
