The way you’ll do this will depend on whether the KVM switch’s user ports are
multiple connectors (see
Section 6.2.3.A
) or single composite connectors (see
Section 6.2.3.B
). (Refer to the listings in
Section 4.2.2
for which ServSwitch family
models are in which category.)
6.2.3.A Attaching a KVM Switch with Multiple User-Port Connectors
Attach the keyboard, video, and mouse connectors of a CPU-style three-to-one
KVM-extension cable to the matching user-port connectors on the KVM switch, as
shown in Figure 6-2. (This cable is included with the Switching Remote Unit; it’s
available separately as product code EHN230 otherwise.) Attach the DB25 male
connector of this cable to one of the Local Hub’s DB25 female composite CPU-
port KVM connectors, or to the connector of the same type on the Switching
Remote Unit.
Figure 6-2. Attaching a KVM switch with multiple user-port connectors to a
CPU port on a Local Hub (12-Port non-serial Local Hub shown, top) or a
Switching Remote Unit (bottom).
