More than one ACP on a network, change PLC node-name
In cases where more than one ACP is installed on the same network, it is necessary to assign a unique node
name to each of the PLCs on the network. In default configuration, the first PLC is called
MAIN_CONTROLLER1, the second ACP is called MAIN_CONTROLLER2, etc.
NOTICE
Avoid to have multiple ACP’s with identical IP addresses or identical PLC names on the same
network. Communication problems with PLC and HMI can then occur.
Follow below procedure to set the node name of the PLC:
1.
If ACP is in operation, then stop operation and secure against unintended start of motors/
compressors.
2.
Acquire a file package from BITZER for updating the program and setting the PLC node name:
“sd_card_plc_v1.1.0.0 _MAIN_CONTROLLER1” for updating program to version v1.1.0.0 and setting
the node name to “MAIN_CONTROLLER1”.
“sd_card_plc_v1.1.0.0 _MAIN_CONTROLLER2” for updating program to version v1.1.0.0 and setting
the node name to “MAIN_CONTROLLER2”.
etc.
3.
Follow further the steps 3 and on in section 8.1.2.
4.
Follow procedure in section 8.1.4 to set IP addresses to unique values for each PLC and HMI.
Re-configure IP-addresses after program update
Re-configuration of IP-addresses may be necessary to do after program installation on the PLC is finished
and the communication between HMI and PLC is established. Follow below procedure to change IP
addresses, if necessary:
1.
On HMI, log in as “SERVICE” and go to page Service\communication setup.
2.
Change IP address of PLC first and remember exactly what it is set to. The connection to the HMI
will be lost, after confirmation of the change.
3.
To change the IP address on PLC, select the image for the PLC, press “Change IP” and follow
instructions on the screen.
4.
HMI must then be set to an IP address in the same range, in order to re-establish connection.
5.
To change the IP address on the HMI, select the image for the HMI, press “Change IP” and follow
instructions on the screen.
6.
The PLC Node Name that the HMI looks for must be the same as the actual PLC node name.
NOTICE
Even in cases where a default gateway is not used, it must still be configured to an IP-address in
the same range as the PLC and HMI IP-addresses.
