16.1 Maintenance
16.1.1 Entire system
Most building components of the installation require little maintenance. Check the
functioning of the components in regular intervals. Immediately replace damaged parts
that are not entirely in working order.
Check all screw connections 4 weeks after the start of operation and then every six
months and tighten them if necessary.
16.1.2 Drive unit
The gear motor comes fully lubricated and ready for use. The lubrication lasts for
approx. 10,000 operating hours (oil filling) or approx. 8000 operating hours (grease
filling). It is not necessary to refill, as overfilling might lead to excessive heat generation.
You can gather the amount and type of lubricant from the lubricant sign that is attached
to the gearing. Different lubricants must not be mixed. If the lubricant is changed, the
gearing has to be cleaned thoroughly.
Mineral oil has to be changed every 10000 operating hours, or after 2 years at the
latest, while synthetic oil has to be changed every 25000 operating hours. Also replace
the antifriction bearing lubricant.
Oil change:
1. Disconnect the gear motor from the power supply and let the gearing cool down.
2. Place a container with enough holding capacity beneath the drain screw.
3. Open the vent screw in the upper part of the gear box and open the drain screw.
4. Completely drain the oil. If oil spills over at the sides of the container, remove it
immediately.
Regular inspection and preventive maintenance guarantee a reliable
operation!
