MACHINE PREPARATION BEFORE OPERATION
• OILING THE ENGINE CRANKCASE
Engine oil and its level are extremely important for
engine efficiency, but especially for enlarging its
working life. For this reason use detergent oil, such
as 20w50.
Oil filling
Remove oil cap, place the engine on a completely flat surface and fill the filling hole up
to the rim as shown in Fig. 1.
• CHECKING AIR FILTER
Before commencing operation, always ensure that
the air filter is clean and free from obstruction.
Clean or replace components if necessary (Refer
to page 37 for air filter maintenance)
• FILLING FUEL TANK
This engine uses UNLEADED PETROL.
Do not mix petrol and oil
Remove tank cap and pour petrol (ER 45: 3,6 L.; ER 73: 6L.)

When handling oil or fuel the use of gloves is recommended as these products
may be harmful for the skin if in prolonged contact with it. If you do not wear
gloves and your hands are stained by oil or fuel, wash your hands using water
and soap.
Please do not throw away used oil. Instead, take it in a closed container to a
refuse disposal unit.
NOTE: Scarifiers equipped with four-cylinder engines may not be operated in slopes with
gradient over 20%, as oil would be pushed to one side resulting in engine seizure.
