The powerplant consists of two Rolls-Royce Gas Turbine Model 250-C40B turboshaft
engines and their independent fuel, oil, and air management systems. The engines
are mounted side-by-side, in individual fireproof compartments; the left side designated
ENGINE NO. 1 and the right side as ENGINE NO. 2. Optimized for performance under
hot day, high altitude conditions, there is ample reserve power contained in each compact
118 kilogram (260 pound) unit.
