4.4.1 Filtration
In the
CLEARPOINT
®

eco
coalescing filter, the flow through the filter element is from the inside to the outside. The
pressurized fluid flows into the inner area of the filter element and from there through the filter element into the filter
housing. In the process, solids as well as oil and water aerosols are separated in the filter material. Due to gravity, the
liquid components in the filter material move downwards, drip off and collect at the bottom of the filter housing. From
there they are drained off manually or automatically. In the course of time, particles are deposited in the filter material.
As a result, the flow resistance (differential pressure) of the filter element increases.
The degree of particle load or contamination of the filter element can be read off a differential pressure gauge.
