16. BATTERY TEST
The expected life of the battery type used is
about 3 years. However, several factors can
affect battery life, such as:
▸
Ambient temperature.
▸
Humidity.
▸
Long storage of the battery before it was used.
▸
If the battery has been fully discharged for a
long period of time, it will never regain its full
capacity.
Checking the battery charging state
▸
The battery charge level is automatically
checked every 7 days.
▸
If configured accordingly, a battery alarm is
sent to an alarm receiver in the event of a
negative battery test.
▸
Reset the alarm by pressing the reset button
after replacing the battery.
Battery test
▸
If the reset button is pressed three times
within 2 seconds, a battery test is performed.
The battery test takes about 20 minutes.
▸
If the battery level is low, the test is aborted.
In addition, if a relay is used, LED 2 and relay
"Battery failure" are activated. The battery
failure is activated with the help of parameter
*88*, see the corresponding parameter in the
parameter list.
Cancel battery test
▸
Press the reset button once.
▸
LED 2 stops flashing in red.
▸
If the battery charge level falls below a certain
level (10.7 V), the dialling unit will not start
automatically. It must then be started by
pressing the reset key.
Test battery failure
▸
Disconnect the battery plug while the battery
charge level is being checked.
▸
The dialling unit triggers a battery alarm and
LED 2 and the battery alarm relay are acti-
vated (if configured accordingly).
Replace battery
▸
Disconnect the 230 V power supply.
▸
Replace the battery (suitable type: 1.2 A).
Main power supply failure
▸
When properly configured, a power failure
alarm is sent to an alarm receiver 15 minutes
after the main power supply fails.
