13. Maintenance of the water distiller without
built in tank
13.1. The routine maintenance during the operation period and periodical maintenance
should be provided for the water distiller:
13.2. Daily check visually the self-cleaning filter for clogging. In the case of contamination,
wash it with water.
13.3. In case of a decrease in water still performance, significant steam emission from the
water still, you should remove salt-contained deposits from the heat exchanger and
the orifice of the nozzle 9. To do this, unscrew the ball valve and the water intake pipe
7 (Figure 5), unscrew the nozzle 9, tighten the fitting without nozzle. Start the water
distiller for 30 seconds in the working mode, then turn off the water distiller and insert
the nozzle in the reverse order having cleaned the nozzle orifice with a bodkin.
13.4. Once a month (or more often if necessary), the evaporation chamber and electric
heaters should be cleaned of scale using citric acid solution (50 g per liter). To do this, it
is necessary to fill solution into the evaporator. Fill evaporator with water, add cleaning
solution for descaling.
Close the raw water supply valve.
Bring to a boil and boil for
10-20 minutes. Then, after 60 minutes, drain the solution
13.5. Rinse with water and pour the solution of baking soda for 5 minutes (10 g per liter), drain
and finally rinse with plenty of water 3-4 times. If necessary, treatment can be repeated.
13.6. In case of poor quality of raw and, consequently, produced water, must be completely
drained from the water still and the inner surfaces of condensation and evaporation
chambers should be thoroughly cleaned by flushing with solution of baking soda (10 g
per liter) followed by wiping (especially along the contour of bottoms of the evaporator
and collector) with a lint-free cloth.
14. Transportation
14.1. The water distillers should be transported in covered vehicles (railway cars, containers,
covered motor vehicles, holds, etc.), and the containers with the water distillers should
be attached securely in order to prevent any possible displacement.
15. Storage
15.1. The packaged water distiller should be stored indoors at an ambient temperature of
minus 50˚С up to plus 40˚С and a relative humidity of up to 98 % at +25˚С.
15.2. The air in the premises should not contain such impurities as corrosive vapors and
gases.
