Breakdown of Account Records
All “RAW Comma Separated Variable” accounting records use a common
format in both the Event Log window (the lower of the two windows) and the
designated Log file. A record consists of a number of fields separated by
commas. If there is no information for a variable nothing is placed in that
variables field. This produces variable length records. The length of the
record being primarily dependant on the “Record Type” (i.e. Open, Close,
Session Start, Session Stop and Periodic).
An example of an Account Record is shown on the next page. The breakdown
of the message format is also shown. The field values are listed below.
Service Type: 2= Router.
Authentication Method: 1=RADIUS, 2=Local.
Record Type: 1=Open, 2=Close, 3=Session start, 4=Session stop, 5=Periodic.
Port Type: 1=Ethernet, 2=WAN, 3=ISDN, 4=Frame Relay, 5=Modem.
Direction of connection: 1=In, 2=Out, 3=WAN.
