11. Set the “Use FIFO Buffers”, the “Receive Buffer (Length)” and the
Transmit Buffer (Length)” as appropriate.
12. [Click]
the
OK Button on the “Advanced Port Settings” sheet. The
“[Selected Modem] Properties” sheet should now be displayed.
13. [Click]
the
Advanced Button on the “Connection” page. The “Advanced
Connection Settings” sheet should now be displayed.
14. Set the Flow Control, Extra settings and whether a Log File is to be
recorded as appropriate.
15. [Click]
the
OK Button on the “Advanced Connection Settings” sheet.
The “[Selected Modem] Properties” sheet with the “Connection” page
should now be displayed
16. [Click] the “Options” Tab. The “Options” page should now be displayed
within the “[Selected Modem] Properties” sheet.
17. Select the appropriate options on Connection Control, Dial Control and
Status Control as required.
18. [Click]
the
OK Button on the “[Selected Modem] Properties” sheet. The
“Make New Connection” form should now be displayed.
19. [Click]

Next Button.
20. Enter the appropriate Area Code, Telephone Number and Country Code
for the remote unit. In this example enter 0171 as the Area Code,
2469753 as the Telephone Number and select “United Kingdom (44)” as
the Country Code.
21. [Click]

Next Button.

Finish Button. A new icon will then be added into the “Dial-
Up Networking” window with the same name as configured in step 4), in
this case “HQ_MARLIN”.
23. Right [click] the “HQ_MARLIN” icon. A drop down list will appear.
24. [Click] the “Properties” item.
