Pyramid 2 Keyboard
CONFIGURING THE NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS CARD
If the keyboard is a RS485 system, it may be necessary to access the RS485 Interface Card to configure termination and
biasing. This is accessed via the panel on the base of the keyboard. This panel can be removed by unscrewing the two
cross head screws.
The RS485 Interface Card has eight switches, and switches 2,3 and 4 should be configured according to the network wiring
rules. Switches 2 and 3 are switched on at one end of the network only, and switch 4 should be switched on at both ends
of the network. Any equipment in the middle of the network should have these three switches set to the off position.
Notes
RS485 systems should always be configured as a linear daisy chain connection. Wired star is not supported.
Generally, any wire connection to fibre optic equipment should not have any biasing set.
