ADDRESSING ALARM MODULES
Any alarm input module or alarm output module that is added to the Pyramid system can be addressed using the Pyramid
2 Keyboard. It should be noted that it is the alarm modules that are addressed, not the individual alarm inputs or outputs
themselves.
To address a alarm module, follow the steps below:
1. Press the
Utility Menu
screen key.
2. Press the
Unit Address Type
soft-key. The
Addressing
screen is displayed.
3. Press the
Alarm Input Address
soft-key or the
Alarm Output Address
soft-key, depending on the type of module that
is being addressed. The keyboard LCD displays a message asking the operator to press the service pin.

4. So that the keyboard can identify the alarm module, press its service pin. This is a small button located on the module
PCB, and when it is pressed, the modules neuron ID is transmitted to all other devices on the Pyramid network. The
neuron ID is a unique identifier which is used to establish communication between the alarm module and all other
devices. Once the module has been identified by the network, it can be assigned a node ID.
5. The keyboard LCD displays a message asking the operator to enter the new node ID. The node ID is the visible part of
a network address, as it is the number that an operator enters on a keyboard to indicate the device that is to be
accessed/controlled (e.g., Alarm Input number
1
, Receiver number
3
).
Use the number keys to enter the node ID.
6. Press the
Alarm Input Address
soft-key or the
Alarm Output Address
soft-key again to confirm the node ID.
The keyboard LCD displays a message confirming the change of address.
