o If there are less than 5 cells filled in, VarioUltra will not switch on.
Wait a few minutes for the minimum charge level to be reached.
To check battery status while using VarioUltra:
1. Braille Notetaker mode: press S3 two times.
2. Braille Display mode: press S2 + B9.
Important:
1. When charging and discharging between battery full and the first
limit, the values of 0% and 100% are adjust automatically.
2. If you ignore the warning to connect VarioUltra to power and pass
the 2
nd
limit, the adjustment of 0% and 100% are lost. When this
happens, checking battery level will result in “approx” being
displayed before the percentage.
a. It is necessary to charge, discharge, and charge the battery
to clear this.
Charging via PC USB connection only provides 100 mA, whereas
charging via a USB adaptor provides 500 to 780 mA. Thus, the charging
time is not a constant value. Please use USB adaptors with 5V and up to
2000 mA.
VarioUltra should provide between 8 and 12 hours of use on a full
charge. If you experience less than this range, it could be because your
battery’s 0% and 100% values have been lost. Contact BAUM technical
support in such cases.
10.8 Settings > IO Profiles.
VarioUltra allows you to store up to 8 different user profiles, and to
switch between them. This is useful for times when you want to work
with different braille settings, including English with different contracted
braille, versus any of the other supported languages.
** New ** with v1.4:
The default profile is Profile #1, which uses US English Contracted
Braille. If it is not already loaded, you can enable this profile by pressing
S1 + B1. Thereafter, use the Master Switch feature to switch between
Computer Braille (B9 + D1) and US English Contracted Braille (B9 +
D2).
A new Profile #2 lets you use UEB instead of US English Contracted
Braille. Load Profile #2 with S1+B2. Thereafter, use the Master Switch
