13 Testing the Installed System
After the hardware installation process is complete, software is configured, and the
EMS has been configured, perform a test to verify that each board is operating.

To ping the SC boards from the PC, take these 3 steps:
1. From the Start menu, select RUN and at the command prompt, enter cmd .
2. At the command prompt, enter ping [Global IP address of an SC board] . A
response should be received.
Note: If the Ping has not received the proper response, check the physical
connections to the network.
3. Using Telnet, access each SC board and run the command: tools tg p
A list of SC software processes appears. Refer to the example below.
