whenever you are connected to the S8300 services port as follows:

Advanced.

in the Exceptions box. If there are other entries in this box, add
to the list of entries and separate entries with a “;”.
— Click OK to exit.

Laptop connections
To connect your laptop directly to the S8300 Media Server:

Make sure your laptop meets the hardware and software requirements.

Plug an Ethernet crossover cable (MDI to MDI-X) into the 10/100 BaseT Ethernet network
interface card (NIC) on your laptop.
•
Crossover cables of various lengths are commercially available.
•
See the
Table 30, Crossover cable pinout chart,
on page 65 for pinout connections if
needed. Crossover of the transmit and receive pairs (as shown) is required.
